WOODLANDS AND TREES

Trees in the landscape are probably my favourite subject matter. Either alone or as part of a bigger arrangement, they usually look to me like photogenic actors in a “stage”, waiting to be photographed. On the other hand, forests are frequently hard to photograph because of their immense complexity but also because of the difficulty to control light and thus, exposure in camera. However, in my mind the challenge to bring some order in the scene is one of the most satisfying aspects in landscape photography.

This gallery contains images from some of my favourite locations in mainland Greece, including the Rhodope forests in Northern Greece, mounts Kissavos and Pelion in Thessaly and the Foloi oak forest in Peloponnese.
